American Roads LLC has over 80 years of experience in the toll and road transportation industry and is the only multi-state toll owner/operator/ technology company in the United States. About 11,000,000 vehicles travel on American Roads’ facilities each year.

We are a full service provider for the tolling and point of sale industries with the ability to provide manual, automatic and electronic tolling/payment applications, credit and account based transaction processing, as well as maintenance, operations and engineering services.

American Roads has developed and operates payment card industry (PCI) compliant tolling systems that accept dual coin and currency, as well as a variety of electronic transactions (transponder, RFID, magnetic card, token, tap card, and bar code). We also successfully launched the first smart phone based application for paying toll in the US. These interoperable systems are designed to incorporate customer loyalty programs; most recently a phone based application that makes facilities that accept cash “cashless”.

American Roads has also developed and deployed a Bluetooth based traffic monitoring system that is in use in Canada and the United States.

Operating four US based toll bridges as well as a dual currency international border crossing between Michigan and Ontario provides American Roads with a unique understanding of the needs of stakeholders and customers to provide practical and cost effective transportation solutions.
